Bishop James Swanson Sr. says, following Christ has always been about becoming and not doing. It is out of our being that we do. If it is only doing, it is, at best charity. It is in our being that transformation takes place.

Gil Hanke invites you to join him in a “fast” this week: choosing not to partake in negative comments on any subject. Instead, he asks us to “feast” on the good news of redemption and the transformations that occur all around us.

Dan Ramsey draws upon his 30 years of experience as a Houston police officer to talk about the emotional and spiritual damage to police officers and how helpful Strength for Service to God and Community is to these community servants.

Larry Coppock expresses appreciation to the 300 people who are serving as scouting ministry specialists who help local churches expand their ministry to young people through Scout troops and other youth-serving agencies.

Jim Boesch says everyone worships something or someone. If the object of their worship is not God, they engage in behavior that is prideful and fearful. He encourages men to help others focus on God as the antidote to the pride and fear that consumes them.

Mark Lubbock encourages men to reach out to the more than 40 percent of male church members who do not attend worship services by using an interest finder and then designing programs to meet their needs.
